Leaning back on a solid education and the support of her artistic parents, the sculptors Professor Leopold Van Esbroeck (1911-2010) and Mariëtte Coppens (1931-2021), she started drawing and painting from the age of 2, winning several prestigious competitions in her early years.

At the age of 7 she visits Iceland together with her grand mother and sister.  At that time, grand mother Maria Coppens, being a ship chandler, has an exclusive contract with EIMSKIP Iceland.  Hence she knows many people there.

The journey to this magical country is unforgettable for the young Diana and the seed is planted for a life time source of inspiration.

Her path led her to the United States where she started an artistic training, that she continued in Antwerp (Belgium).  At that point, she changed the course of her life and became a Doctor in law & Master in Public Management.  After working for several years in various management positions at home and abroad, she refound her artistic path.

In 2023 she becomes Master in Ceramics.

Inspired by the contacts in the 1980s with the art movement “Critical Figuration” (The Magicians in Antwerp, Belgium), the magic of Nature, the importance of Free Thinking, Diana collects the building blocks for her work.  She employs her own style involving fantasy and "looking through and behind the daily things”.  Living several years in the U.S. and Canada, let her taste a sense of freedom that cannot be experienced in Europe.  This longing for infinite freedom can be found in most of her work.

Recently she became very inspired by innovations in space and the quest of humankind to explore the heavens.

And so she is working on the origin of origin, the creation of creation, woven by an inner passion for being, a primal urge that is always looking for the drive in the fulfillment of all that arises.
